Final Concept Paper Models
Close ups of the final models
After experimenting with different shapes , materials, textures and foldings , these are the final concept models created.
I tried to incorporate the seating with the structure as much as possible..

Concept Summaries
Folding makes any structure more
rigid.
This pavilion manly consists of seating, continuing and flowing with a
wall. The pavilion can be done
using stainless steel .. Which I think
the reflections would make a great effect, with the different shades created on
the stainles steel depending on the light. I don’t know if it could be done but
if it was to be made in transparent coloured glass or plastic .. It would create a great effect and a
playful atmosphere.
Stainless steel is apropriate for
the outdoors because it’s durable, it doesn’t corrode, rust or stain. It is a
very low maintenance material.
Stainless steel is also recycable ,
it is used in a lot of objects and architecture , and can get steam cleaned or
steralized.
The best way for it to be done may
be by welding the triangles together,
although it wouldn’t be easily stored or have parts replaced.
What I like about this pavilion is
that the overall shape is curvy but at the same time it’s all done with geometric triangles. I think that it would
serve as a great meeting place and a place for some shade from the sun.
It can either be
done with bent wood with different shades or also different textures. And also
it can be done using corrugated metal combined with normal smooth metal to create different
textures.
Insted of different textures , some
cut outs will also make a great effect, especially with shadows created by the
sun.
It is very important that the
structure is rigid and that it would be well connected to the plain. It has to
be resistant and joint well for safety.
It can either be connected to the ground , or to a thin platform .
This pavilion seating structure was
inspired by
leaves. The same continuous shape was used
to create the structure of the pavilion and also the seating. The shapes can be
made in several different thicknesses for a more interesting effect. Even
though it’s so simple, a great effect would be created. It would be interactive
with the people passing through and people can relax and sit or lie down on the
integrated seating.
It would create a relaxing
athmosphere because of it’s curvy shapes and flowing lines.
This pavilion can be done with
curved wood , or also stainless steel, which have to be assembled accordingly
as shown in the model for the desired effect as each section has a different
tilted angle.
As I said in cocept 2 it has to be
rigid and connected very well for safety.
